National Symposium on Responsible Tourism

The main objective of this one-day meeting is to bring together Indian tourism's stakeholders to explore and agree on mechanisms to make Responsible Tourism the way forward for a destination like India. This symposium will also serve as a prelude to organising the 2nd International Conference on Responsible Tourism as a follow up to the Cape Town Declaration of August 2002.

The symposium will be led by
Dr. Harold Goodwin, Professor of Responsible Tourism Management at Leeds Metropolitan University, UK and Director of the International Centre for Responsible Tourism, UK. Participants in the symposium will include travel and tour operators, property owners, NGOs, Governments, media, academics, National Parks, representatives of community initiatives and independent observers.
